The Climate Project Worldwide
The Climate Project, a non-profit organization based in Nashville, Tennessee in the USA, began operations in June 2006 with the mission of increasing public awareness of the climate crisis at a grassroots level in the United States and abroad. By April 2007, a diverse group of 1000 volunteers from every corner of the USA had been trained to present a version of the slide show on which the Academy Award-winning film, “An Inconvenient Truth” is based. As of March 2008, these volunteers, or Climate Change Presenters, as they are called, had delivered more than 10,000 presentations and reached a combined audience of over one million people.
In addition, TCP/Al Gore-training initiatives have already trained 275 people in Canada, 200 in the UK, 250 in Australia, 250 in Spain, 100 in India, and additional trainings are being planned for China and elsewhere.
The heart of The Climate Project lies in the commitment, dedication and passion of TCP presenters to educate people about the climate crisis and its solutions.
