Board of Directors
The founding Board of Directors of TCP-Canada is comprised of the following individuals, each of whom was among a highly select group of Canadians trained by Mr. Gore in Nashville and currently serving as TCP presenters in Canada:
Shelley Kath (Executive Director) is an attorney formerly with Fasken Martineau DuMoulin in its Environment and Energy as well as Strategic Counsel Groups. She has substantial experience with the non-profit sector, and in the USA, served as Legislative Director of the Sierra Club’s New York State Chapter, where she served as chief spokesperson and lobbyist for the organization’s 45,000 members.
Michael Gerbis (President) is a professional engineer and CEO of the Delphi Group, a leading strategic consultancy in the environment and clean energy sector. He is actively involved in the community as a Board member of the Ottawa Chapter of the Young Environmental Professionals and an active Advisory Committee for Algonquin College’s Green Business Management Program.
Désirée McGraw (Vice-President) is Executive Director of the Jeanne Sauvé Foundation in Montréal, and lectures on climate change diplomacy and international development at McGill University. A public affairs professional with twenty years of experience as a policy expert, reporter and spokesperson in the field of sustainable development, she formerly served as the Senior Policy Advisor to Canada’s Minister of International Cooperation.
René Brunet is a meteorologist with more than 25 years experience in television, educating and explaining environmental science to the masses. He currently serves as Assistant Coordinator of Educational and Public Services at Environment Canada’s Biosphere.
Peter Corbyn is a professional engineer and co- founder of EarthInstitute.Ca and www.greennexxus.com. Peter has helped residential, small business and industrial sectors reduce greenhouse gas emissions for almost 20 years. He held the position of Environment Director with the Canadian Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association during the late 1990’s. Peter currently resides in Fredericton, New Brunswick
James Hoggan is President of the award-winning Vancouver-based public relations firm Hoggan & Associates and founder of DeSmogBlog.Com. In addition to offering communications advice to public and private sector clients at the local, national, and international levels, Mr. Hoggan also serves as a Trustee of the Dalai Lama Centre for Peace and Education, and as Chairman of the Board of the David Suzuki Foundation (DSF) and Future Generations.
