Idling could be totally eliminated in restaurant drive-thrus if they would be constructed with a slight downward slope. Drivers could put their cars in neutral, turn off the ignition and coast down the drive-through until served.

I've recently become very passionate for saving our earth, we call home. Knowing that the sun refects off of the glaciers and clouds, etc, I believe that we could cause the sun to refect off of our homes, buildings, etc, by means of trying to cover them with some sort of white reflecting shield. Yet this material would have to be weather durable, and long-lasting it could benifit our climate, and us. If it was only possible to have both in one, we could have white solor panels, which could save...

Others may never compete and instead send a demo video, or sponsor-me video, directly to the brand they would like to represent. The hope is to secure an endorsement contract in which the brand pays to be associated with the athlete....

Armed with a friend's fancy Nikon SLR and high hopes, I made my way to Canada Hockey Place for the Women's Gold Medal game. With hardly an American in sight past the entrance, the crowd was heaving with Canadians. I've never seen such a brilliant sea of red and white.

And then I realized I was wearing a striped red sweater and a navy blue t-shirt embroidered with stars. Attire mishaps aside, the game itself was thrilling.

Now before I continue here I need to come clean: I'm not a hockey fan. I...

Vancouver's record hot temperatures during the 2010 Winter Games have certainly given organizers a lot a headaches - and have likely made a lot of people nervous behind the scenes. The responses to these problems have garnered a lot of media attention, from flying in snow by helicopter to refunding more than 8,000 tickets to the snowboarding events to protect spectators from dangerous "ice holes" (although not the same...
